Dominica Z. Sterling, 69, of Valrico, FL and formerly of Crisfield, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, FL. The cause of death was due to complications associated with both diabetes and acute renal failure.

Born July 6, 1941 in the Philippines, she was naturalized as an American citizen in Sacramento, CA. On December 25, 1959 she married Martin L. Sterling, Jr. of Crisfield while he served in the U.S. Air Force in CA.

Mrs. Sterling was a child care provider in Crisfield for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Martin L. Sterling, Jr., of Valrico; two children, Angie Evans and Marty Sterling, both of Crisfield; and four grandchildren, Martin Sterling, IV, Jordan Sterling, Ericka Evans and Ryan Evans.

Funeral services will be held at Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bradshaw & Son's Funeral Home in Crisfield, MD where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Asbury Church Cemetery in Crisfield.
