DOLORES E. DEAN, 78, of the Annemessex Ridge area of Crisfield and formerly of Bradshaw, Maryland, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Edward W. McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.
Born in Baltimore on February 9, 1929, she was a daughter of the late C. George and Elizabeth Beddoe Renstrom. Her first husband, Stuart Jackson, preceded her in death in 1973. She had been making her home in Crisfield for the past 17 years.
She was a bookkeeper for the Joseph L. Winkler Co. in Bradshaw, Maryland working 20 years before her retirement. She also served her country during World War II in the Women's Army Corps (WAC).
In Bradshaw, she was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, the Homemaker's Club in her earlier years, and the Susquehanna Chapter of Parents Without Partners (PWP), where she met her second husband, Roland Dean. In Crisfield, she was a member of the Country Club, Yacht Club, Lioness Club, and the Crazy 8 Bridge Club. She enjoyed duckpin bowling, crafting, calligraphy, crossword puzzles, and all types of card games. She was also an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, and enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Roland Dean of Crisfield; four children and their spouses, Linda and Ronald Geisler of Abingdon, Maryland, Douglas and Lynda Jackson of Elkton, Maryland, Barbara and Ben Zellin of Davidsonville, Maryland and John and Sandy Jackson of Joppa, Maryland; one brother, Richard Renstrom of Sebring, Florida; one sister, Joan Haggerty of Bel Air, Maryland; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several step-children and step-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Renstrom.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 25, 2007 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joe Barnes will officiate. Another memorial service will be held Friday, June 29, 2007 at 10 AM at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bradshaw, Maryland. Urn interment will follow in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
