DICKIE "RICHARD" TAWES, 75, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Crisfield on December 21, 1933, he was the son of the late Robert and Katherine Evans Tawes.
He was a US Army veteran, and formerly worked for The City of Crisfield, NASA and NOAA.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Tyler Tawes; a daughter, Julie Bailey(Scott); two sons, Richard Brent(Mary Beth) and Glenn. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Richie, Jennifer, Katelyn, Melissa and Christopher; and one brother, Preston Tawes.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, Jr.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 5PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. Friends may call Tuesday from 3:30 until 4:30 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. There will be a procession to the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, Maryland 21802-1733.
