DELLA MARIE PARKS, 85, of Tangier Island, VA, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at her home.
Born on Tangier, she was the daughter of the late Ferman Edward and Ellie Boon Charnock Dise. Her husband, Ernest Elwood Parks, died March 29, 1997.
A homemaker, she was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Ernest Edward Parks (Donna) of Tangier, Larry Ray Parks (Patti) of Salisbury, and Wayne Wesley Parks (Sarah) of Crisfield; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Vaughn Delee Parks; one sister, Mary Dise; and seven baby brothers
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier where friends may call Saturday evening from 7-9 PM. Rev. Patricia Stover and Mrs. Eugenia Pruitt will officiate the service. Interment will be in the Parks Cemetery.
