David Bert MacQueen of Upper Fairmount, MD passed away on Thursday, March 17 th , 2022 at the age of 86. He was Constant and Faithful until the end.
David was born in Coshocton, OH on July 12 th , 1935 to Russell and Olive MacQueen. The oldest of two sons, David attended Muskingum College before joining the United States Navy Reserve, earning the rank of private. After the Korean War, David earned a reputation working in banking, health care, and agriculture across eastern Ohio. In the 1980's, he relocated to MD where he was the owner of Pocomoke Marble and Granite, which he proudly ran for nearly thirty years. David was an active member of the Salem Methodist Church where he served in leadership and performed in their quartet as the baritone. He enjoyed the delivery of a good joke, weaving a home-spun tale, gardening, flipping old houses, and cooking. Those who knew him best remarked how he often showed his love through wonderful meals, judiciously prepared and served.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Douglas, and nephew Glenn. He is survived by his wife Eva; sister-in-law Judy; son Bert (Beth); step-sons Juan (Monica) and Julian (Karen); grandchildren Tyler, Cameron, Olivia, Adrian, Mauricio, Annelese, Sofia, and Alexander; and nieces Carole (Daniel) and Cathryn (Daniel).
A graveside service for family is being planned for later this summer at West Lafayette Cemetery near Newcomerstown, OH.
