Obituary

DARVIN L. "SMOKEY" BILES, 70, of Crisfield and formerly of Baltimore and Berlin, New Hampshire, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Baltimore on October 16, 1936, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Ruth Bowersox Biles. He had been making his home in Crisfield since 1986.

He was a plumber for more than 30 years for various construction companies and had been a waterman for the past five years. He was a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield, Berlin American Legion in New Hampshire, V.F.W. Post #8274 in Crisfield, Westover Moose Lodge, and the Redmen Lodge in Fruitland. He enjoyed, fishing, crabbing, camping, dancing, entertaining, shuffleboard, westerns, and country music.

He is survived by his wife, Simone Biles of Crisfield; six children, Debbie Bosak and husband Richard, Dwayne Biles and wife Nancy, and Dave Biles and wife Kris, all of Baltimore, Pamela Webb and husband Tom of Spokane, Washington, Lisa McMillan and husband Joe of Salisbury, and Elizabeth Biles of Crisfield; 17 grandchildren, Matt Bosak, Bryan Bosak, Dwayne Biles, Jr., Jesse Biles, C.J. Ison, Kenny Ison, Thomas Webb, Jr., Ryan McMillan, Brandon McMillan, Justin McMillan, Brittany McMillan, Lisa McMillan, Darlene Brookhart, Mary Brookhart, Jerry Brookhart, Debbie Biles and Dawn Biles; two brothers, Gerald Biles of Baltimore and John Biles and wife Ann of Delmar, Delaware; two brothers-in-law, Raymond Duquette of Princess Anne and Roland Duquette of New Hampshire; a special nephew, J.T. Biles of Baltimore; many other nieces and nephews; and a life long dear friend, Bob McDonald of Berlin, New Hampshire.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three children, Doris Biles in 1957, Darvin Biles, Jr. in 1990 and Vance Biles in 2005; and a brother, William Biles.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Nolan Ford will officiate.
