Darryl Lynn Abbott, 55, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home.

Born in Salisbury on October 6, 1959, he was a son of the late Guilford Abbott, Sr. and Jacqueline Sterling Abbott.

A graduate of Washington High School class of 1979, he was a house painter and a US Army veteran.

He was a member of the Wesleyan Church and American Legion Post #16 in Crisfield. He was an avid yard saler and tennis player, and he enjoyed playing brain teasers. He loved his pet cat, "Cocoa", his pet bird, "Jade", and his pet dog "Texas".

He is survived by his wife, Sue Ellen Whitelock of Westover; brothers and sisters, Kerry Abbott, Sr. of Hebron, Peggy Jean Black of Eden, Bruce Abbott of Salisbury, Carol Abbott of Salisbury, Patrick Abbott and wife Koni of Hebron, Marie Johnson of West Post Office, and Guilford Abbott, Jr. of Deal Island; three step-children, Robert Neil Whitelock, III of Westover, Bradley Allen Whitelock of Baltimore, and Harley Lee Kennedy of Westover; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at 2 PM at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
