Daisy Mae Johnson, 71, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2011 from the McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.
Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late Calvin (Jack) Jones and Estelle M. Lee Jones. She was a long time custodian of the Crisfield Church of God, of which she was very proud. She previously worked the former Carvel Hall Cutlery of Crisfield and also in the Woodson School Cafeteria in Crisfield.
She was a charter member of the Living Hope Ministries of the Eastern Shore in Crisfield. She was also very active with the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband of almost 54 years, Russell George "Junie" Johnson, Jr.; sons, Russell George Johnson, III and wife Marcia, of Marion, and George Calvin Johnson and wife Betty of Brunswick, GA; daughter, Lynette M. Coulbourne and husband Donnie of Crisfield; brother, Walter "Tommy" Jones and wife Nellie of Crisfield; sisters, Betty Balderson and husband Bill and Kitty Crockett and husband, Terry, all of Crisfield; grandchildren, Brian Johnson, Kristen Wilhelm, Kasie Johnson, Stephanie Abbott, George Calvin Johnson, Jr., Haleigh Johnson, Staci Palmer, and Kate Coulbourne; 6 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Calvin "Bud" Jones and Ralph "Burnie" Jones, and a sister, Barbara Warfield.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Living Hope Ministries in Crisfield. The Rev. LeBron Palmer will officiate.
