Constance "Connie" Loy Marshall

Constance “Connie” Loy Somers Marshall, 88, of Tylerton, Smith Island, MD, went to be with the Lord our Savior on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing home in Crisfield, MD.

Born on Ewell, Smith Island, MD on July 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Madeline Somers Dize. Her family moved to Rhodes Point, Smith Island as a young child where she lived until she married the love of her life. She was the wife of Stanley “Bucky” Marshall for 58 years before his death on January 27, 2011. They were married on October 4, 1952, and lived their entire lives together on Tylerton.

Connie attended Ewell School to 8th grade. She worked hard with Bucky in the crabbing business their whole life together and was also the Postmaster of Tylerton Post Office for 30 years.

She was a member of Union United Church on Tylerton and the Union United Methodist Women. Connie loved cooking, crocheting, and quilting and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her two children, Chris Marshall of Tylerton, and Amy Swanger and husband Barry “Buck” of Salisbury; six grandchildren, Reagan, Cici, Dillon, Dalton, Drake, and Drew; brother Jerry Smith of Rhodes Point; aunt Doris Bradshaw of Tylerton; and many cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 20, 2026, at 12 Noon at Christ Fellowship Bible Church, 5910 Crisfield Highway, Marion Station, MD with visitation from 11AM until service time at 12 Noon. Pastors Stephen Willing and Rick Edmund will officiate. Interment will be Monday, February 23, 2026, on Tylerton, Smith Island.
