CLYDE ROGER EVANS, 74, of Tangier Island, VA, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home.
Born on Smith Island February 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Clyde Evans and Clara L. Sheehee Tyler. He had been making his home on Tangier for the past 52 years.
He was a retired tugboat mate and was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie Evans; two sons, Roger Curtis Evans and Freddie Allen Evans; three grandchildren, Rebecca, Elisha, and Curtis; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mickey Evans; and a sister, Genevieve Marsh.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial U. M. Church on Tangier where friends may call Saturday evening from 7-9 PM. The Rev. John Flood will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
