Charlotte Marie Middleton Dize, 91, of Ewell, Smith Island passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born on Ewell on September 29, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Willie Jones Middleton. Her husband, Ruthman Zimmerman "Rukie" Dize preceded her in death on October 15, 2015.

Charlotte was co-owner of the former "Ruke's Grocery" on Ewell. She was a faithful member of Ewell United Methodist Church, where she served with the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Ewell Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Bernice Evans of Crisfield and Rukie Dize and his wife Karen of Fruitland; grandchildren, Jill Holland and her husband Brian, Angie Evans, and Jason Evans and his wife Megan; great-grandchildren, Ryan Evans, Jason Evans, Jr., Nick Holland, Will Evans, Ava Evans, and Caleb Evans; and special cousins, Henry Guy and his wife Katie.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Evans.

Funeral services at Somerset Free Methodist Church will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2PM where a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Reverends Jim Evans, Everett Landon, Paul Holland, and Carlo Leto will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
