Charlotte G. Daugherty, 90, of Crisfield, died Friday, July 27, 2018 at her home in Heart's Ease.
Born in Crisfield July 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Allen W. Green and Lottie Marshall Green. She was a retired bookkeeper at the former Holland's Crossing Lumber Co. in Hopewell. Her husband, William Blair Daugherty, died June 1, 1984.
She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where was active in the United Methodist Women, Circle # 5, and the soup ministry. She attended summer services at St. Peters United Methodist Church where she was chairperson of the memorial fund. She was a charter member of the Crisfield Lioness Lions Club, member of the former Chesapeake Chapter # 28 Order of the Eastern Star, Crisfield Chamber of Commerce where she chaired the Crab Derby Cooking Contest for many years, member of the Crisfield AARP where she was trip coordinator and she volunteered at the Crisfield Heritage Foundation. She was also a recipient of the Maryland You are Beautiful Award for Somerset County, and had a passion for rose gardening.
Surviving is a daughter, Debra Daugherty-Ball of Salisbury; several cousins and other relatives including John B. "Jack" Nelson of Springfield, VA, Tammy Ward of Milton, FL, Pam Eskridge/Gary of Galestown, Terry Howard of Crisfield, Sheri Sodergren of Crisfield, Freddie Marshall/Pat of Mardela, and Charles "Buffy" Landon/Carolyn of Crisfield; Caregivers, Ruth Ann Landon of Crisfield, and Penny Nicosia of Westover; and neighbors Mike and Cindy Ward.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-Law, Marchan R. Ball on March 18, 2012, and very close cousins Janet and Russell Ward.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Alyssa Nantt and Rev. Bill Sterling officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 7 to 9 PM.
