Charles A. Lankford, 84, of Crisfield, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield on April 4, 1934, he was a son of the late John Lankford and Hattie Marshall Lawson.

He worked as a Mechanic for Tawes Brothers for many years and was a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion and the Elks Lodge #1044 in Crisfield.  He loved his home and most importantly he loved his family.

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Marie F. Marsh of Crisfield; a son, Charles S. Lankford and wife Burnice of Seaford, DE; a sister, Ruby Cullen of Crisfield; grandchildren, Christopher Lankford, Steven Lankford, Becky Whayland Jeffries, Jody Soukup, Laura Lankford, Kristine Lankford, and Robert Lankford; numerous great-grandchildren; his extended family, Cheryl Tawes and husband David, Mark Marsh and wife Marjorie, Steven Marsh, Megan Tawes, Patrick Tawes, Seth Tawes, Brittany Marsh, Logan Marsh, Blake Marsh, Landon Marsh, Kaylon Marsh, April Marsh, Billy C. Marsh, and Madison Marsh; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Whayland; a son Terry Lankford; and a brother, Jimmy Lankford.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.  The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate.
