Obituary

PEGGY "CHARLENE" KELLEY, 70, of Crisfield, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.

Born in Crisfield on September 9, 1941, she was a daughter of Emma Horner Daugherty of Crisfield and the late Charles Luther Daugherty who died in 1972.

She worked at the former Cable TV office in Crisfield and later worked as secretary of the Crisfield Housing Authority where she retired.

She attended the Crisfield Church of God, and was a member of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044 Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies of the Moose Lodge #2431 in Westover.

In addition to her mother, Emma Daugherty, she is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Donald W. Kelley of Crisfield; two daughters, Cheryl Tyler and her husband Mark and their sons Julian and Alex, all of Salisbury and Tina Sterling and her husband Scott and their children Samantha and Craig, all of Nebraska; two brothers-in-law, Philip Gerald of Crisfield and William Daniels of Milford, DE; her caregiver, Gorman Abbott of Crisfield; and her friend, Pat King of Salisbury.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Jean Gerald and Nancy J. Daniels.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev.'s Philip Morris and Harvey Tyler will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11 AM at the Crisfield Church of God. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406 or Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway; both Crisfield, MD 21817.
