Cathryne M. Lankford, 86, of Marion Station, died Monday, August 20, 2012 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Addie Mae Mills McGrath.

She was a member of Quindocqua United Methodist Church. In her earlier married life, she worked at Parson's Store in Marion. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida during the winter months. Frequent family functions were such a delight to her, with plenty of food, fun, and card games.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Lankford; and was the loving mother to four children, Robin Twilley and husband Howard, Robert (Bobby)Lankford, III and wife Mary, Karen Kitching and husband Gary, and Kathy Morris and husband Mark; eight grandchildren, Joe Twilley and wife Beth, Steve Twilley and wife Angie, Jenni McDorman and husband Charles, Leanne Pruitt and husband Jonathan, Beth Lednum and husband Lee, Ray Johns and wife Liz, Curt Johns, and Bobby Harris; eight great-grandchildren, Reston Twilley, Nathan Twilley, Madison and Marli McDorman, Jillian and Abigail Pruitt, and Lexi and Laney Lednum; along with several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Warren Lee Lankford; four sisters, Addie Mae Lawson, Sara Andrews, Ruth Young, and Mary Lou Charnick; and two brothers, John McGrath, Jr. and Robert Lee McGrath.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2012 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call two hours prior. The Rev. Chuck Jacobson will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion.
