Carolyn Marie Howard Carmine, 94, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born in Marion Station, MD on September 6, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William Fletcher Howard and Stella Franklin Howard.  Her husband, Lloyd "Buddy" Carmine died in 1998.

A lifelong resident of Somerset County, Carolyn worked at many places in the town of Crisfield through the years including the Crisfield High School cafeteria, McCrory's, Eagles, Shore Marts, and Fast Gas.

She was an avid Orioles fan, enjoyed watching golf, playing cards with family and friends, and getting her morning Gordon's coke to start the day.  As a loving, selfless mother and grandmother, she would always go out of her way to help clean, cook a meal, or run errands for her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Nelson and her husband Doug and Sharon Price and her husband Edward "Chappy", all of Crisfield; three grandchildren, Kelly Reese (Lance) and Ryan Dize of Crisfield and Brian Price (Becca) of Ellicott City, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, John Fletcher Howard, William Franklin "Tater" Howard, Stanley "Brownie" Howard, Charles Howard, George Howard, and Ernest "Ernie" Howard as well as three sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Zook, Sallie Mae Outten, and Evelyn "Ebbie" Cullen.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion at a later date.
