Obituary

Carolyn Parsons Bruce, 66, of Crisfield, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at her home.

Born in Salisbury on July 25, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Alwyn Henry and Elizabeth Bonnar Wootten.

Carolyn was a graduate of Wicomico High School Class of 1970 and attended Secretary School.  She was a Seamstress working for Jeanette Silloway for many years specializing in draperies.  She enjoyed sewing and making crafts for people.  She would make Baptism gowns from wedding gowns for her nieces and great nieces and she made baby items for all family and friends births.  She also had a great love for cats.

She was a member of Faith Fellowship Assembly of God for many years and currently was a member of Crisfield Church of God.

She is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, John Carson Bruce of Crisfield; siblings, H. Alwyn Wootten and wife Ida of Charlottesville, VA, Allison Elizabeth Wootten Adams, and Oliver O. Wootten and wife Ann, all of Salisbury; sister-in-law, Jane Shreaves and husband Jim of Mears, VA; nieces and nephew, Mark, Angela, and Kelly Cummings; and multiple other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services officiated by Rev. John Thorne will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2 PM at Crisfield Church of God.  A viewing will be held at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 7-9 PM.  Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The Cat Sanctuary of Humane Society of Somerset County, MD, P.O. Box 493, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
