Carlis Somers, 59, of Hendersonville, TN and formerly of Crisfield, and daughter of the late Bud & Hettie Lentz, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at her home of cancer.

She graduated from TA Futrall High School in Marianna, AR in 1968 and Crowley's Ridge Vocational Technical Nursing College in Forrest City, AR in 1970. Her passion in nursing was geriatric care.

She was a life long member of the Crisfield Church of God. She was an avid Nascar and Elvis fan.

She is survived by her husband Harold Somers; one son, Brian Somers; a devoted stepdaughter, Cathey Gentry of Memphis, TN; three stepsons; four sisters, Ruth Potter of Mardela Springs, Brenda Willey of Rhodesdale, Cheryl Pruitt and her husband Ron of Salisbury, and Judy Bennett and her husband Chris of Salisbury; one brother, Paul Lentz and his wife Kay of Branson, MO; three grandsons; eight step grandchildren; and a life long best friend, Mabel Knierim of Marion Station.

A memorial service will be held Monday, June 29, 2009 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Harvey Tyler will officiate.
