Obituary

Carl William "Bing" Swift, 87, of Marion, died Thursday, November 16, 2023 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

The son of the late Charles Upshur and Elizabeth Harrison Swift, he was born on July 12, 1936 in Baltimore and was raised in Crisfield.

He was retired from the State of Maryland Department of Natural Resources where he worked 30 years and was the owner of Swift Snapper Sales and Service.  He served in the Maryland Army National Guard Company L, and was a life member and former chief of Marion Volunteer Fire Department.  He was also a member of Quindocqua United Methodist Church.  He loved gardening, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Winnie Fay Williams Swift; two daughters, Karen Tremper and husband Tony of Marion and Sandy Fiedler of Laurel, DE; three grandchildren, Michael Tremper and wife Jocelyn of Princess Anne, Daniel Fiedler of Oak Orchard, DE, and John Tremper of Marion; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Eli, and Carson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, William David Swift; and 16 siblings.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 20, 2023 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior.  Pastor James Wengerd will officiate.  Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion.
