CAPT. CARMINE C. COIRO, 72, of Westover for the past 30 years, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home.

Born in Bronx, New York, he was a son of the late Carmine Charles and Helen B. Good Coiro. He was a retired waterman, charter boat captain, and boat builder. He was a US Navy veteran and a member of the MD and Somerset County Charter Boat Associations.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Anne Coiro of Westover; three sons, John Coiro of Orlando, Florida, Donald Coiro of Hernando, Florida, and Charles Coiro of Shelltown; a sister, Margaret Pearson of Pearl River, New York; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother, Janie and Nicky.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 7 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Tommy Maddox will officiate.
