Caleb W. Jones, Jr., 81, of Crisfield, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at his home.

Born on Ewell at Smith Island he was the son of the late Caleb W. Jones, Sr. and Charlotte Tyler Jones. He was a retired waterman.

He was a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Crisfield, and was inducted a few years ago in the Waterman's Hall of Fame.

Surviving is his wife, Essie Landon Jones, four sons, Caleb W. Jones, III, Dennis Jones, and Tracy Jones, all of Salisbury, and Troy Jones of Virginia Beach, VA; one daughter, Carolyn Logan of Laguna Niguel, CA; four step-children, Mike Byrd, Curtis J. Landon, Jr., Lee Ann Grosky, and Mark Landon, all of Crisfield; one sister, Lela Evans of Crisfield. There are several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Willie J. Middleton in 1992 and Louise H. Brimer in 2002.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park near Crisfield. The Rev. Terry Riggin will officiate. There will be no public viewing.
