BONNIE PARKINSON SOMERS, 57, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on December 28, 1950, she was a daughter of John Thomas Parkinson of Crisfield and the late Gertrude S. Pusey, who died in 2005.
She worked at Janes Island State Park in the maintenance/housekeeping department. She also worked many years as a waitress at Watermen's Inn and Captain's Galley.
Known by many as "Mom-Mom", Bonnie's door was always open to anyone in need. She loved to paint and was a very spiritual person.
Along with her father, she is survived by her daughter, Dawn Donoway Howard; her granddaughter, Jenna Howard Marshall; her great-grandsons, Caleb and Brody Marshall; her sisters and brothers, Donna Stevens Wootten, Lea Ann Leslie, Rick Parkinson, Faith Elliott, and Andrew Parkinson; a special nephew, Steven Ward; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Leroy E. Pusey, and her brother, John Thomas "Tommy" Parkinson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. There will be no public viewing, however, friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
