Bobby C. Easley, age 89, passed away peacefully, reunited with his beloved wife of nearly 66 years, Vonzalee Mason Easley, who preceded him in death in 2025.
Born in Del Rio, Texas on July 27, 1936, he was the son of the late Claude Easley and Vera Easley.
Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. It was during his time in the Navy, while stationed in Chincoteague, that he met the love of his life, Vonzalee. Together, they shared a lifetime of travel, adventure, and unwavering partnership.
Following his military career, Bobby continued his work as an aircraft mechanic and instructor with NASA, a role he took great pride in, where he spent another 20 years before retiring. His work reflected his deep skill, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
In his free time, Bobby enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved gardening, woodworking, and working on crossword puzzles. He also had a well-known fondness for chocolate and sweets, something that brought him great joy.
He is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews: Toni (Mike), Theresa (Marty), Tanya (Margaret), and Vonda, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Bobby was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, A.D., and Leman; and his sisters, Lola, Laverne, and Vera.
Bobby will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the quiet, steady way he lived his life.
