Obituary

Bishop Greg Cox, 65, of Marion Station, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his home.

Born in Crisfield on May 30, 1953, he was a son of the late Charles Wesley and Connie Faye Mason Cox.

A graduate of Crisfield High School Class of 1971, Greg was a waterman, evangelist, and minister.  He truly loved being on the water and prayed for his watermen family every morning over the VHF radio.  At the age of 18 the Lord called him into ministry.  He had a passion for spreading God's message and loved ministering to all people.  He founded Tabernacle Worship Center in Westover in 1999 and was active in the East Gate Ministries.  He enjoyed and was very proud of his Facebook Ministry and posted a video every morning reaching thousands of people.

He served in the US Army National Guard for six years, and was a former member of the Crisfield Fire Department.  In addition, he loved his family, fishing, boating, and people.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cathy Lynn Brittingham Cox of Marion; daughter, Christie Sterling and husband Ryan of Marion; aunt, Teresa "Snookie" Piskor of Crisfield; close cousin, Becky Wharton of Crisfield; best friend and work partner, Eugene Evans of Marion; Gabby Panzo, who he loved like a granddaughter; and his spiritual mother, Mother Apostle Barbara Rose.  He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Murphy Cox.

Memorial services at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 12 PM where a visitation will be one hour prior.  Pastors Pamela Polk and LeBron Palmer will officiate.  Urn interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery.
