BILLY JOE CALES, 79, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, July 1, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Sandstone, West Virginia on July 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Leslie Dunn Cales and Lena Madge Gill Cales. He had been making his home in Crisfield for the past 20 years.
He was a former truck driver for Bill Simmons in West Virginia. He attended the Crisfield Church of God and loved to cook. He especially enjoyed bringing people his homemade potato salad.
He is survived by his sister, Geraldine June Parsons of Crisfield; six nephews, David and Wayne Zickafoose, Rickie and Robert Cales, and Ronnie and Rodger Owens; and a brother-in-law, Bill Owens.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alfreda Owens.
