Billie Rae Daugherty Reese, 76, of Crisfield, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at her home.

Born in Crisfield on March 11, 1949, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Gwendolyn McDorman Daugherty.  Her husband of 57 years, James Patrick Reese, Sr., passed away just four days prior on Monday, June 16, 2025.

A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1967, she was a talented artist and the owner of Annemessex Ceramics.  She also retired as store manager of the former Carvel Hall Cutlery, and worked in home health care for several years.

She was a nature lover who enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, vegetable gardening, collecting sea glass and sea shells, and searching for arrowheads.  She also loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by sons, Lance Reese and wife Kelly of Crisfield, James Patrick Reese, Jr. and wife April of Crisfield, and Thad Sterling and wife Elizabeth of Huntsville, Alabama; a sister, Carol Torre and husband Bob of Salisbury; grandchildren, Rhett Perry, Ryan Perry, Brendon Perry, Megan Perry, Gwendolyn Reese, Patrick Reese III, Lauren Bozman, Alyssa Reese, James Sterling, Kristoff Sterling, and Kearstin Sterling; great-grandchildren, Pearl Joy, Harper Reese, Noah Patrick Reese, Lilah Reese, Gabrielle Bozman, and Beckham Reese; son-in-law, Shawn Perry; and several nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by her wonderful caregivers, Tina Swift, who was like another daughter to her, and Angela Ferraro.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol "Lanee" Reese Perry on September 15, 2024; a brother, Judge Robert D. Horsey; and a sister, Monnie Mae Ward.

A Celebration of Life Service for Billie and Pat will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1-3PM at the Crisfield Library, 100 Collins Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
