Beverly Rose Tyler Guy, 75, of Ewell, Smith Island, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 8, 2024 from Bay Harbor Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury.
Born on Smith Island on March 15, 1949, she was a daughter of the late John Tawes Tyler and Rose Marie Matiko Tyler. Her husband of 31 years, Gene Guy, preceded her in death on November 25, 2000.
She was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1967. She had numerous jobs over the years including a hairdresser, cake baker, and Commission on Aging (MAC).
A lifetime member of Ewell United Church, she was very active in the Ewell United Ladies Aide and was the treasurer for 10 years. She was known for baking her cakes as well as her pies for any function that was asked of her.
She enjoyed baking, gardening, and watching The Young & The Restless on TV. She loved spending time with her family and she adored her pet cat "Midnight".
She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Guy and Melanie Guy of Ewell; granddaughter, Alexis Guy of Ewell; great-grandson, Noah Gene of Ewell; sister, Vivian Tyler and husband Clarence of Princess Anne; brother-in-law, Henry Guy and wife Katie of Salisbury; nephews, Billy John Evans of Ewell and Henry Guy and wife Susan of Nashville, TN; and nieces, Donna Murray and husband John, and Bekki Tyler.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Gene Guy on July 20, 2014.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 2 PM at Ewell United Church. Rev. Rick Edmund and Rev. Orlando Short will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ewell United Church.
