Obituary

Betty Ward Mrohs, 88, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July, 5, 2013 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital in Baltimore.

Born in Crisfield on August 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Marie Somers Ward. Her husband, Robert Mrohs, preceded her in death in 1970.

A graduate of Crisfield High School, she was a homemaker and a secretary at the former Roy Bradshaw Seafood and the former W.T. Grant Department Store.

Mrs. Betty was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Crisfield where she was very active in the Silver Saints, Choir, Soup Ministry, Vacation Bible School and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed working in her garden, relaxing on her porch, and making pumpkin pies. She loved being with her family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by four sons, Ronnie Mrohs and wife Glenda, Steve Mrohs and wife Millie, Danny Mrohs, and Doug Mrohs and wife Kim, all of Crisfield; nine grandchildren, Mike Mrohs and wife Lori, Robbie Mrohs and wife Jennifer, Kristen Miles and husband Edwin, Mark Mrohs, Jennifer Mrohs-Freeman, Keleigh Mrohs, Rachael Mrohs, Jack Mrohs, and Gracie Mrohs; eleven great-grandchildren, Amanda and Connor Mrohs, Anabelle and Theron Mrohs, Adriana and Alayna Miles, Justin, Matthew and Jacob Mrohs, and Elijah and Makayla Freeman; her nephew, Wes Butler and wife Betsy, and her niece, Ann Butler, all of Crisfield.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, June Butler in 1991; and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Mrohs in 2000.

Funeral services officiated by Reverends Jonas Taylor and Tad Maroon will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
