Betty Crockett McMann, 78, of Tangier Island, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 5, 2011 at her home.
Born on Tangier Island on July 13, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Irene and Ray Crockett.
A homemaker, she was a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church where she was choir director, church treasurer and Bible School Director.
She is survived by her husband, Leon McMann; four children and their spouses, Carlene and Rudy Shores, Nick and Laurie McMann, Irene and James Eskkridge, and Carolyn and Jack Chandler; 12 grandchildren, Jim, Jeff, James, Ashley, Nicholas, Josh, Joseph, Alese, Manjula, Devi, Bhagya, and Sreedevi; four great-grandchildren, Andrew, Ayden, Priya and Lilly; two sisters, Norma Dize and husband Pres, and Jerry Pruitt; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant child; and a brother-in-law, Charlie Pruitt.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church on Tangier where friends may call Monday evening from 7-9 PM. The Rev. Patricia Stover will officiate. Interment will be in the family cemetery.
