Obituary

Betty Lee Corbin, 95, of Pocomoke City, died Friday, November 18, 2022 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home.

Born in Chincoteague, VA on January 6, 1927, she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha Reed Bloxom.  Her husband, Charles Winfred "Wimp" Corbin, preceded her in death on December 26, 2015.

A graduate of Chincoteague High School, she worked as a bank teller at Philadelphia National Bank and Barbara Lee's Dress Shop in her earlier years.  More recent, she was the co-owner with her husband of Corbin's Meat Packing Company in Pocomoke.

She was a faithful member of St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church in Pocomoke and was very active in the Altar Guild, St. Martha's Guild, and serviced the Chalice.  She was a member of the Nassawango Country Club Women's Golf Association, Winter Quarter's Women's Golf Association, Pocomoke River Garden Club, and numerous Bridge Clubs.  She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, needlepoint, and she especially loved gardening.

She is survived by her son, Lt. Col. Ret. Paul Timothy Corbin and wife Mary Kay of Westover; step-son, Charles Duncan Corbin and wife Patricia of Salisbury; step-daughter, Emily Ellen Corbin Shevock and husband Geoffrey of Lewes, DE; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Snead of Chincoteague; 8 grandchildren, Lisa Reed and husband Billy Reed, Jr. of Chincoteague, Jacque Derrickson and husband Tom of Chincoteague, Jennifer Corbin Hilliard and husband Chris of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Philip Michael Corbin and wife Shannon of Prescott, AZ, Susan Redden and husband Jonathan of Pocomoke, John Boston, II and wife Leslie of Pocomoke, Crystal Williamson of Delmar, and George Underwood and wife Wendy of Hollywood, FL; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Charles David Snead; and her sister, Anna Ellen Brown.

A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Greg Powell will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10 AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Pocomoke. Urn interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the interment in the church Parish House.
