BETTY B. LANDON, 79, of Crisfield, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born in Maryland on September 21, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Lena Layfield Brittingham. Her husband of 53 years, James Carroll Landon, preceded her in death February 13, 2001.

A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1947, she was employed by Delmarva Power and Light working 26 years before her retirement on March 1, 1988. She attended Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield prior to her illness.

Betty enjoyed cooking, especially making chicken salad for people and lovingly making birthday cakes for her grandchildren in the shape of the age they were turning. She also enjoyed working in her yard, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Landon Webster and her husband Allan J. Webster; her sister, Carolyn B. Thomas; her grandchildren, Jennifer Swift Bramble and Toby Swift and his wife Gena; her great-grandchildren, Cassie Bramble and Joscelyne and Colbi Swift; her sister-in-law, Carolyn Gunter; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Maurice and William "Billy Britt" Brittingham and Cassie B. Evans.

Funeral services officiated by The Rev. Bob Daniels will be Tuesday at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call Monday evening from 7-9 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
