IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty June
Bradshaw
February 22, 1931 – September 2, 2024
Betty June Owens Bradshaw, 93, of Crisfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home where she had been a resident for almost two years.
Born in Crisfield on February 22, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Christopher C. and Esther Elliott Owens. Her husband of 51 years, Robert H. Bradshaw, Sr., preceded her in death on May 13, 2004.
She was a wonderful homemaker and worked in her younger years as a telephone operator at the former C&P Telephone Company and was a seafood worker at the John T. Handy Seafood Company. In addition, Betty was a staple at the family business, Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home, where she greeted families with her kind smile for many years.
Betty was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. She was Past President and very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Crisfield Volunteer Fire Department, and when her children were young she served as a Cub Scout Den Mother.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, working in her yard, fishing and boating, shopping and traveling- especially with her daughter, playing cards and "going to the slots". She was very crafty and enjoyed painting and making silk floral arrangements. She was also a wonderful cook who loved hosting family gatherings and was well-known for her Muskrat dinners for the men in the family.
Most of all, Betty loved to have fun! Her beautiful smile and laugh were infectious and she made friends everywhere she went. She loved her family fervently and we are comforted knowing she is having a grand reunion with her daughter and loved ones and is no longer suffering.
She is survived by two sons, Robert H. Bradshaw, Jr. and wife Bonnie and Steven John Bradshaw and wife Mary; four granddaughters, Mary Beth Bradshaw Coale and husband Roman, Lindsay Bradshaw Atkins and husband Mark, Bobbie Lynn Bradshaw-Tyler and husband Deric, and Brooke Bradshaw Jackson and husband Sam; great-grandchildren, Lainie Pruitt, Dusti Pruitt, Addison Coale, Graham Coale, Audrey Atkins Brice and husband Andy, Miranda Atkins, Noel Atkins, Ben Atkins, Jaxon Tyler, Jett Tyler, Jemma Tyler and Ledger Samuel Jackson; great-great-granddaughter, Lennon Drew Brice; former son-in-law, Tripp Marshall; former sister-in-law, Maurleen Owens; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; her devoted caregivers, Joy Buttrill, Miranda Atkins, and Kathy Crockett; and many special friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Lynn "Patti" Bradshaw Marshall on November 19, 2012; her brothers and sister-in-law, Arza A. and Peggy Owens and Christopher C. Owens, Jr.; and all of her precious furbabies that she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 6, 2024 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be from 11-1. The Reverend Stephen S. Willing will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are requested to be sent to Crisfield Fire Department, P.O. Box 591; or Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home, Activities Fund, 201 Hall Highway; both Crisfield, MD 21817.
