Bernadette Kliever, 77, of Crisfield, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025, at her home.

Born in Crisfield on December 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Francis Leonard Ward and Fay Crockett Ward.

Formerly of Baltimore, she was a graduate of Lansdowne High School and was a retired courier for American Expedite in Halethorpe. She was a member of the Crisfield Church of God.

She loved watching cooking shows, going antiquing, and shopping at flea markets and yard sales. Most of all she loved her family, and she adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Alan Kliever; two sons, William H. Trott, Jr. (Melissa) and Robert Clay Trott (Joan); brother, Daniel Ward; two sisters, Berniece Newman and Lola Dionisio (Jess); grandchildren, Jacob Handschuh, Jeremy Handschuh, Tyler Trott, Gabrielle, and Eva; nephews and niece, Joseph Horton (Kristen), Justin Newman, Dannette Cass; aunt Jeannie Thomas; her first husband, William H. Trott, Sr.; several cousins; and her friends Diane and Mike Nasuro.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a niece, Denise Baumes.

A memorial service will be held at Crisfield Church of God on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 12 PM. Pastor Michael Vaughan will officiate.
