Obituary

BEATRICE J. HEADLEY, 88, of Crisfield, died Monday, October 2, 2006 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield where she had been a resident for almost one year.

Born in Crisfield on June 9, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Mark and Madge Poe Harrison. Her husband, Hugh S. Headley, died February 9, 1981.

A retired seamstress, she worked for various former clothing manufacturers in the area. She was devoted to her family, and especially enjoyed cooking for them. She was also a founding member of the Somerset Free Methodist Church in Crisfield.

She is survived by two sons, Oliver "Tuts" Lawson and his wife Joan and Tommy Lawson and his companion Mary Bradshaw, all of Crisfield; four grandchildren, Karen Lawson, Kathy Rees, Kristy Lawson and Michael Bradshaw, all of Crisfield; one great-grandson, Bryan Lawson Rees of Crisfield; two sisters, Mae Daugherty of Crisfield and Betty Eward of Lowell, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by four brothers, James, Allen, Billy and Ben Harrison.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 2 PM at Somerset Free Methodist Church in Crisfield where friends may call two hours prior to the services. The Rev. Samuel Horner will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park near Crisfield.
