Barbara Dykes Whitney, 85, of Delmar and formerly of Hebron, died Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  She had been making her home the last three years with her daughter and caregiver, Barbara Eanes, in Delmar.  She was also cared for by her loving granddaughter, Cheryl.

Born in Salisbury on November 14, 1934, she was a daughter of the late William Thaddeus Dykes and Shirley Christine Dykes.  Her husband, Charles Lewis Whitney preceded her in death on August 31, 2019.

She was a housekeeper at the Georgia Belle (Serene) in Ocean City working for 30 years before her retirement.  She enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, and reading.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Eanes/Tom, Gordon Lewis/Diane, and Wayne Kilman; grandchildren, Cheryl Eanes/Jake, Jason Eanes/Tamara, Breanna Distin, Farah Lewis, and Crystal Kilman; great-grandchildren, Bryant Eanes, Brianna Eanes, Raegan Morgan, and Jaelyn Morgan; and several other relatives.  She is also survived by her pet dog and companion, "Cody".

Graveside services officiated by Rev. Stephen S. Willing will be Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11 AM at John W. Taylor Memorial Cemetery in Temperanceville, VA.

Arrangements are in the care of Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield.
