Barbara Ann Riggin, 77, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2018 at Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born in Crisfield April 14, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Charles U. and Winnie V. Swift.

She was a nurse for more than 40 years, caring for patients at PRMC, Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation, and Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home over the course of her career.

She is survived by her husband, Terry D. Riggin of Crisfield; daughter, Arlene Gerstenmaier and husband Eric of Snow Hill; son, Carroll Swift Riggin of CA; granddaughter, Laura Gerstenmaier of Snow Hill; special cousins, Ruby Byrd and Coulbourne Swift of Marion; caregivers RoseAnn Nelson, Janet Ford, Bonnie Smith and Carolyn Landon; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Gerstenmaier. She was the last surviving of all her siblings.

A funeral service officiated by The Rev. Stephen S. Willing will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at a fellowship meal at Evangelical Wesleyan Church.  Interment will be private in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
