Barbara Ellen "Bobbie" Somers, 84, of Crisfield, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Born in Crisfield on April 1, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Kirk Sterling, Sr. and Frances Riggin Sterling.

She was a graduate of Crisfield High School and worked at the Crisfield Housing Authority for more than 40 years, retiring in October of 2020 as Administrative Assistant.  She loved her work.

Bobbie was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she was active in the UMW and enjoyed singing in the Sanctuary Choir. She liked shopping, going out to eat, reading, doing word search puzzles, and playing solitaire. She also had a great love for people, especially her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracie J. Somers of Crisfield; granddaughter, Madison Evans of Crisfield; three siblings, Rebecca "Becky" Waters of Sheffield, CT, Kirk Sterling, Jr. of Arnold, MD, and Debbie McLaughlin of Salisbury; and several nieces and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Terry Sterling; and several aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11 AM at Asbury U. M. Church.  Pastor Jeff James will officiate.
