Barbara J. "Bobbi" Tawes, 88, of Crisfield, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 at Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Crisfield on February 1, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Alton "Ack" Adams and Ruby Mears Adams. Her devoted husband of 54 years, Benson E. "Tucker" Tawes, preceded her in death on January 31, 2009.
She was a homemaker and a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1955. In her earlier years she was a member of First Baptist Church in Crisfield where she was active in the Silver Saints and most recently she was a member of Crisfield Church of God. She adored her family and she loved traveling with her sisters and friends ("The Foursome") for their "Girlfriend Getaways".
She is survived by her children, Jeff Tawes and wife Cindy Sayre Tawes of Port Norris, NJ and Robbin D. Schultz and husband Jack of Crisfield; her special companion, Terry Crockett of Crisfield; her sister, Jo Ellen Shanks of Crisfield; her grandchildren, John "Jay" Paro, III and fiancé Caitlyn of Crisfield, Brittany Mineroff and husband Josh of San Francisco, CA, Nicole Tawes of Colorado, Jacob Tawes of Port Norris, NJ, Ruby Tawes of Colorado, Troy Schultz and wife Nickie of Forest Hill, MD, and Wendy Perdue of Belcamp, MD; her great-grandchildren, Maddox Miller of Crisfield, Carson, Cole and Cameron Schultz of Forest Hill, MD, Hunter and Alec Perdue of Belcamp, MD and Toby and Kaley Mineroff of San Francisco, CA; a special brother-in-law, Vernon Tawes and wife Irmgard of Princess Anne; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald "Ack" Adams; her sister, Karen Elliott; a special brother-in-law, Raymond Shanks; and many other brothers and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Tawes Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided during her residency there.
A memorial service will be held at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 11 AM where a visitation will be from 10:30-11AM. Urn interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
