Barbara L. Bentley, 79, of Crisfield, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional surrounded by her family.

Born in Catonsville, MD on August 13, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Leroy Hipsley and Edna Floyd Schribner Hipsley. Her husband of 45 years, Ronnie Wayne Bentley, preceded her in death on May 15, 2010.

Barbara was a graduate of Catonsville High School and at age 35 she obtained her A.A. Degree from Anne Arundel County Community College. She worked at the MVA in Glen Burnie as Section Chief and retired after 30 years.

Having a green thumb and love for flowers, she enjoyed gardening whenever she was able. She loved her family greatly and enjoyed having a cup of tea and chatting with them.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. Bentley and wife Kristen of Crisfield; grandchildren, Andy Bentley and wife Mindy, Stephen Bentley and wife Lorena, Jenna Milliner and husband Dustin, John Stuart, Reed Stuart, Brody Bentley, Zach Bentley, and Steven Arnold; great-grandchildren, Camden, Brenden, Grayden, Amelia, Hailey, Colton, Nathan, and Stella; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Melvin Leroy Hipsley, Jr., Edna Oldaker, Lois Hipsley, Stephen Hipsley, and Richard Hipsley.

Memorial services will be private at a later date.
