Arthur Lee Blades, Jr., 87, of Pocomoke City, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home.

Born in Pocomoke September 22, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur Lee and Marie R. Richardson Blades.

He was a florist for 42 years, working at Benedict's for many years as well as for other local flower shops.

He was a member of Lynnhaven Baptist Church and was a former member of the Pocomoke Jaycee's.

He is survived by his special friends, Diane Frostrom, Dixie Davis, Belinda Rositer, Terry and Janet Wigton, and Ray Buyea, wife Nancy and daughter Heather; and a nephew, Robert Doughty and wife June.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rosa Ella Blades Doughty on September 18, 2012.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 1 PM at Lynnhaven Baptist Church in Pocomoke. Rev. Kerry Hinson will officiate. Urn interment will be held at a later date in Goodwill Methodist Cemetery.
