Argene Ward, 87, of Crisfield, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Whiton, Maryland on October 29, 1933, and was a daughter of the late Avery and Edna Henman Webb.

A graduate of Wicomico High School, she was a retired secretary for the Somerset County School System.  Over the years she worked at both the #3 and #1 schools, and most recently Marion Sarah Peyton.  She also was a florist at the former Crisfield Flower Shop which her family owned at the time.

Argene was a faithful and active member of Asbury United Methodist Church.  There she sang in the choir for over 50 years, taught Sunday School, played piano for Sunday School, was active in the United Methodist Women, and served on various committees.  She was also a member of Women Supporting Women.  She enjoyed gardening and crafts including crocheting and cross stitch.  Most of all, she loved her family and especially adored doting on her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, M. William "Bill" Ward of Crisfield; a son, Keith B. Ward (Courtney) of Crisfield; daughter-in-law, Kay Johnson (Riggin) of Salisbury; brother, Elwood Webb (Penny) of Pittsville; grandsons, John David Perdue (Elizabeth) of Princess Anne and William Kash Ward of Crisfield; great-grandchildren, Addison and Jase; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, William Glenn Ward in 1988; her siblings, Angela Foskey and Walter Webb; and her sisters-in-law, Margaret Bloodsworth, Nancy Ward, Anna Webb, and June Webb.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Bob Daniels will be held Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home.  A visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
