Obituary

April Renya Dolyny, 75, of Salisbury, died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her home.

Born April 10, 1943 in Salisbury, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Emily Covington Griffin.  April grew up in Whitehaven, Maryland, and lived in Salisbury and Ocean City Maryland, and was a long-time resident of Greenbackville, Virginia.

Most of her career was spent in retail, selling items as varied as shoes and cell phones. She greatly enjoyed her last job as a receptionist at Hartley Hall in Pocomoke. April was an active member of the Greenbackville Volunteer Fire Department.

​April's interests included reading; socializing; playing piano, organ, and autoharp; and her pet chinchillas.

Survivors include sons Mark Catlin of High Springs, Florida and Brian Catlin (Kelly) of Nanticoke, Maryland; granddaughter, Darbi Catlin of Nanticoke; siblings, Susan Griffin Hill of Silver Spring, Guy Griffin (Mary) of Princess Anne, John Griffin (Joann) of Hebron, Amy Griffin Porter (John) of Washington Grove, Maryland, Sally Griffin Work (Richard) of Fripp Island, South Carolina, and Cara Griffin Rozaieski (Chris) of Salisbury; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, April was preceded in death by​ a former husband, Richard L. Catlin of Nanticoke,​ and her husband, John Michael "Duke" Dolyny of Greenbackville.

A private gathering of immediate family members will be held at a later date, with burial to be at the Dolbey Cemetery near Whitehaven.
