Obituary

Annette Catlin Massey, 78, departed peacefully to go to her heavenly home on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Her faith and the prayers of her family and friends supported her during her brief illness.

Annette was born to the late John and Bernetta Nelson Catlin in Crisfield, Maryland on July 31, 1936. Her husband of 46 years, Donald T. "Donnie" Massey preceded her in death in 2004.

A 1954 graduate of Crisfield High School, she attended Salisbury State Teachers College and taught in Crisfield for about 10 years. Later, she worked in the family business, Massey Chevrolet, until its closing in 1987. She remained working for All-Star Chevrolet for a short season. Having a love for learning new things, she went to McCready Memorial Hospital to become the Materials/Supplies Manager and later Director of Human Resources until her retirement in 2005.

A devoted, compassionate, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Annette was dedicated to the Lord. As a member of the Crisfield Church of God, she was an Ambassador for Sunday School and church. She was also an avid reader and a student of the word. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing cards, taking loving care of her beloved cats, and feeding her birds and squirrels. She cherished spending time with her family, and her legacy of love, patience, and elegance will live on through them.

She is survived by her daughter, Anita Harris and husband Jimmie and their sons, Storm, Lance, and Kolby, all of Crisfield. In addition, she is survived by her nephews, Holly Massey and wife Felda and Dean Massey and wife Gail, all of Crisfield; and great-nephews, Kevin Massey and wife Jessica of Perryhawkin and Steven Massey and wife Valerie of California, and their families.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Michael.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Philip Morris will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be Friday evening from 6-8. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733; or Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406, Crisfield, MD 21817.
