Anne Matarazzo, 74, of Crisfield and formerly of East Moriches, New York, passed away on the morning of February 3, 2014 at her home.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Anne relocated to Crisfield in 1985 with her husband and children and went back to school to obtain her degree in nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at PRMC for many years until her retirement in 2012.

She was a volunteer at the Humane Society of Somerset County, and was a member of the Women's Civic Club and the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #16.

Anne will be remembered for her selfless generosity, infectious lightness, adventurous spirit, and her love for people and animals in crisis which led her to her career and volunteer choices.

She is now joined again with her husband, George.

She is survived by her son, George, Jr.; her daughter, Dory; and her family, Butch, Annette, Karen, Debbie, Sadie, Furby, and Pepe.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2 PM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover. Father William J. Porter will officiate.

A celebration of her life will follow in the spring of 2014.
