Obituary

ANNABELL JOYNER, 77, of Crisfield, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at her home.

Born in Crisfield on March 14, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Lillie Collins Townsend. Her husband, Melton Joyner, died August 10, 1999.

A homemaker, she was a member of the Church of God, the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the Elks Lodge #1044 Ladies Auxiliary, all in Crisfield. She was an avid BINGO player.

She is survived by four children, Melton Joyner, Jr. of Crisfield, Verna Joyner Simonenko and husband Robert of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Jordan "Bo" Joyner of Crisfield and Rommel Joyner and wife Linda of Crisfield; a step-daughter, Jerry Ruth Simpson of Princess Anne; eight grandchildren, Angela Stuebe of Crisfield whom Annabell raised as a daughter, R.J. Joyner of Crisfield, David Simonenko of Ft. Lauderdale, Marshall Joyner of Gary, Indiana, Heather Joyner of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Aaron Joyner of Reno, Nevada, Ryan Joyner of Myrtle Beach, and Mickayla Joyner of Mardela Springs; three step-grandchildren, Mary Simpson of Princess Anne, Deanna Simpson of Princess Anne and Robin Adams of Washington, DC; eight great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Ronnie Townsend of Parsonsburg.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11 AM at the Crisfield Church of God. The Rev. Philip Morris and Mr. Eddie Daniels will officiate. Friends may call Monday evening from 7-9 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733 or to the Church of God, 134 Maryland Avenue, Crisfield, MD 21817.
