Anna Mae "Ann" Pinder, 94, of Crisfield, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Roberts Station, Maryland on July 17, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Maggie Mae Parsons Beck. Her husband, Grover L. "Bud" Pinder, died March 2, 1995.
She was a physician's assistant at East Point Medical Center in Dundalk working 30 years before her retirement.
A resident of Crisfield since 1983, Ann was a member of Mariners United Methodist Church where she was President of the UMW for many years, and was a member of the church choir. She also helped establish the Mariners Bargain Shop and the memorial fund to help support the church cemetery.
She was also a past member of the Somerset County Garden Club and the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening, and cooking.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by three children, Bernard L. Pinder and wife Eileen of Grand Haven, Michigan, Carlotta Pinney and husband John of Crisfield, and Patricia Sisk and husband James of Forest Hill, MD; eight grandchildren, David and Michael Pinder, Johnna Taylor, Sue Farrell, John Pinney, Jr., Denise Michalowski, and Thomas and Jason Page; one sister, Flora Walk of Hampstead, MD; one half-brother, Robert Walls of Stevensville, MD; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Walls and Becky Rubio; two brothers, James and Thomas Beck; and one half-brother, Donald Walls.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Steve Willing will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 10 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be Tuesday evening from 7-9. Interment will be Wednesday at 2:30 PM at Green Mount Cemetery in Hillsboro, MD.
