ALPHONSUS J. BRUEY, JR. age 86, a resident of Crisfield, MD for the past 5 years, died at home on Saturday, April 21, 2007.

Born in Port Richmond, PA, formerly of West Oak Lane, PA and Somers Point, NJ, he was the son of the late Alphonsus J. Bruey and Mary Cassady Bruey. He was a graduate & violinist in the orchestra of North Catholic High School class of 38. Retired from the DSPC in South Philadelphia, worked & retired from Liberty Bell Raceway in Pa. & Atlantic City Raceway in NJ. He was a member of Local 137.

Survived by sister & husband Kathleen and Joseph Byrne of Mayfair, PA & her children & grandchildren; his daughters, June Calico of Ventnor, NJ, Susan & Kore Christensen of Crisfield, MD, Mary Anne Kelly of Ocean City, NJ, Alice & Jim Ganly of Crisfield, Md., Ethel & Gary Hermenau of Smithville, NJ; his sons, Alphonsus J. & Carol Bruey III of Ocean City, NJ, Daniel & Patricia Bruey of Hammonton, NJ; grandchildren, William Bartle of Egg Harbor, Twp, NJ, David Brennan of Fulks Run, Virginia, April Brennan of Crisfield, MD, Dana Bartle of Jersey City, NJ, John Kelly of Ocean City, NJ, Jessica Bruey of Alaska, James & Mathew Frick of Mullica, NJ, Paige Darcusio of Brigantine, NJ, and Christopher & Savannah Bruey, Zachary Hermenau & Joshua Bruey, all of NJ; great grandchildren, Alexis, Halley, Reilly, Ryan, Shane, Logan & Cassidy. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Marie, & daughter Nancy Jean. His greatest accomplishment was his family.

Friends may call Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Mannal Funeral Home, 6925 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA from 8:30-9:30 AM with a Mass following at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Mayfair, PA at 10 AM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Roman Catholic Cemetery in Cheltenham, PA.
