Alma "Jean" Blades, 90, of Crisfield, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Marion Station on May 13, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Orland "Ike" Marshall and Margaret Ward Morrison. Her husband, Thomas C. "Titter' Blades, preceded her in death in 1990.
She was a homemaker and worked for seven years in the Marion School cafeteria. She was a member of the Crisfield Wesleyan Church and was an avid bowler, bowling many years in leagues at the Pocomoke City Bowling Alley.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Jessica Wilkinson of Salisbury; great-grandchildren, Autumn Gillis-Florian and Andre Gage Shahan; nieces and nephews, Pat Somers of Crisfield, Margie Morgan (Cliff) of Crisfield, Lawrence Somers (Karen) of Marion, Bruce Somers (Tanna) of Marion, Valerie Howard (Tim) of Crisfield, Monique Welch (Billy) of Marion, Todd Marshall (Trish) of CA and Brett Marshall of CA; a close cousin, Carol Ann Mills (Jack) of Crisfield; and a very close friend, Harvey Tyler of Crisfield.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her son, Andre Marshall Blades on January 5, 2010; two sisters, Doris Balderson on May 20, 2012 and Patsy Somers on May 17, 2016; and a brother, Orland "Buck" Marshall on April 15, 2015.
A graveside service will be Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 2 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home, 201 Hall Highway; or Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P.O. Box 406; both Crisfield, MD 21817.
