Alan Edward Dryden, Sr., 60, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on July 10, 1955, he was the son of the late Alan H. "Crow" Dryden and Jennie Marie Crockett Dryden.
A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1974, he was vice president of the former Carol Dryden Seafood Co. Alan began his tug boat career as a mate and later captain with Stuart Petroleum in Crisfield. He later worked with Piney Point Transportation out of St. Mary's County and finally Vane Brothers out of Canton, MD where he retired.
He married the love of his life, Karen Jane "Janie" Crockett on April 4, 1984, and welcomed their only son, Alan E. Dryden, Jr. "Buddy" on July 6, 1992. Alan was a member of First Baptist Church in Crisfield and the Seafarer's International Union.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife and son, are his sister, Carol Ann Dryden Ross and husband Bob of Pocomoke City; several cousins; his Wednesday night poker buddies; many, many, close and special friends; and his trusted Chesapeake "Duke".
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Littleton "Lit" Dryden; and several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a visitation will be one hour prior. Pastor Tad Maroon will officiate. Urn interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
