Obituary

Addie Lou Parks Benson, 90, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Manokin Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Princess Anne.

Born in Monie, MD on September 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Ruth Noble Parks. Her husband, Robert Wesley "Bob" Benson preceded her in death on March 5, 2018.

Addie was a graduate of Washington High School in Princess Anne and was an Old Home Prize recipient.  After high school she attended Western Maryland College. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury.

In 1973, Addie and her husband Bob opened up a business in Salisbury called Benson Paint Center and Decorating, and in 1984 they opened up another business in Delmar, DE called Addie's Interiors.

She is survived by her son, Robert A. Benson and wife Terri of Nanticoke; daughter, Linda Kreit and husband Rob of Lancaster, VA; grandchildren, Ashley Benson and Sara Benson; nephew, Burt Parks of Baltimore; and niece, Angela Rathkamp of Princess Anne. She was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, Alvin and Elsie Parks.
